Shanxi Jingshen Railway Company Ltd., China, has awarded Pandrol a contract for FASTCLIP FC-16 fastening systems for a major national infrastructure project.

Under the contract, Pandrol will manufacture close to 880,000 FC-16 fastening sets to cover 145 miles of heavy-haul track that stretches through Menghua to Central China.

This latest deal follows Pandrol winning a major contract in this region in 2016 to supply fasteners for 250 miles of heavy-haul track for the Menghua Railway project. This latest project interfaces with the Menghua line, connecting the coal mining areas in northern China with the industrial hub in the South. Both railways are scheduled to be operational in 2019.

The Pandrol FASTCLIP FC-16 fastening system is designed for use on ballasted track “and is engineered to allow for easy maintenance,” the company said. “With Pandrol FASTCLIP, all components are delivered to the site pre-assembled on the crosstie. This provides huge labor savings, as well as reduced distribution and handling costs during track laying, stressing and rail changing.”

Pandrol operates a sales and technical resource center in China, providing customers with local expertise on rail fastenings. “We successfully secured this project due to our proven technology and global experience in heavy-haul fastening systems,” said Zhou Gang, Managing Director at Pandrol in China. “Our expertise as an innovative solutions provider means that not only have we supplied high quality products, but we were also able to offer pre-assembly, mechanized installation and auto inspection.”
