Ontario Northland has signed on with TekTracking LLC to implement its infrastructure inspection and testing management software.

Ontario Northland has chosen TekTracking LLC to supply infrastructure inspection and testing management software.

The railroad, based in Northbay, Ontario, will use TIMPS (Track Inspection, Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling Software) to augment its current track and roadbed inspection process. TIMPS delivers “digitized inspection and maintenance reports to support failure trend analysis analytics,” according to TekTracking, a railroad asset-management technology development company with headquarters in Fairport, N.Y.

TekTracking’s SITE will provide Ontario Northland with “real-time field information as well as digitized versions of all pertinent test information, including automatic scheduling of inspection/test tasks, electronic test procedures, status overview of upcoming tasks, customized reports of test results and data, and supervisory alerts when inspection schedules are at risk of violating mandated inspection intervals.”

Under the contract, TekTracking will also equip Ontario Northland’s Track & Signal personnel with mobile apps to log inspection and testing data.

According to TekTracking CEO Greg Fogarty, all of the technology will allow the railroad to “see benefits in the way track and signal inspection, testing, and repair is planned and executed.”

“We are excited to advance our inspection and testing regime,” Ontario Northland Vice President of Transportation Drew Duquette said.
