On Dec. 29, 2016, the National Railroad Construction & Maintenance Association (NRC) announced its board elections results. Three new members join the board in 2017:

Dave Bergstrom, Vice President of Rail Construction, Ragnar Benson, LLC

Danny Brown, Railroad Development Manager, V&H, Inc.

Kevin Riddett, President & CEO, RailWorks Corporation

From NRC:

Dave Bergstrom has 35 years of construction experience and has predominantly worked in the rail industry since 2003. He has managed many types of rail projects, including capacity expansion, intermodal, transload, and light rail projects. He has worked with Class I railroads, short line railroads, commuter rail systems, and private companies.

Danny Brown has spent the last 20 years specializing in the needs of railway contractors and short line railroads in North America. He began working with his father at Brown Rail Equipment, followed by many years in the maintenance-of-way equipment business with FCM rail. He was RailWorks’ Corporate Equipment Manager from 2012 to 2015.

Kevin Riddett has more than 30 years of industry experience developing and leading transportation-related enterprises across North America and Europe. Before joining RailWorks, he served as President of the Siemens Mobility Division where he was responsible for Siemens’ North American transportation portfolio, including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, intelligent traffic management systems and rail service businesses. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Invensys Rail, which was acquired by Siemens, where he led the global signaling and train control business headquartered in London.

In addition, two incumbents running to continue their service on the NRC Board were re-elected. They include:

Nate Henderson, Chief Commercial Officer, RJ Corman Railroad Group

Jody Sims, Business Development Manager, Stacy and Witbeck

“NRC membership overwhelmingly voted in favor of the slate put forward by the nominating committee,” said NRC President Chuck Baker in an email announcement to NRC members earlier today. “I’d like to thank all of those who submitted statements this year for their continued dedication to the success of the NRC and the entire rail construction and maintenance industry.”
