Georgetown Rail Equipment Company (GREX) on Oct. 21, 2015 promoted Greg Grissom to Chief Operating Officer/Executive Vice President Customer Delivery. Grissom previously served as Vice President Engineering.

In his new role, Grissom will continue to lead the engineering team, but will additionally oversee Operations & Safety, Marketing & Sales and Information Technologies.

GREX President and CEO William “Wiggie” Shell said Grissom played an important role in the development of new technology solutions and overall growth of the company. “Greg is a valuable asset to the GREX team and has proven that he’s able to effectively lead,” he said. “We strive to bring talented and hard-working people to our team that also have a passion for the rail industry. Greg has exemplified those qualities and we believe he will continue to help us to exceed our goals as a company.”

“I am pleased to take on these additional responsibilities during exciting times at GREX,” said Grissom. “The commitment of our board and our employees to delivering safety-focused technology solutions for our customers has been one of my great motivators while at GREX. I look forward to my new responsibilities, continuing to innovate and being a part of the bright future of this organization.”

Prior to GREX, Grissom was HNTB’s Union Pacific client service leader and project manager on multiple rail design projects, among them several high-speed initiatives. He also served at Zeta-Tech Associates, where he was involved in rail research projects, field studies and rail-industry-specific software applications.
