Gill grabbing Harsco Rail reins

Harsco Corp. on Oct. 19 appointed Jeswant Gill as President of Harsco Rail, effective Nov. 1, 2016. He will be based at Harsco Rail headquarters in Columbia, S.C.

Gill brings 30 years’ experience at large multinational manufacturing and technology firms to Harsco Rail. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of the Global Solutions division of The Arcadia Group International, providing business advisory and strategic planning services to multinational clients. Prior to Arcadia, he led Kennametal’s $1.3 billion Industrial Segment as Executive Vice President, “where he delivered strong revenue growth and margin expansion in emerging markets,” Harsco said. Before that, he served as Vice President, Global Services for the Industrial Technologies Sector of Ingersoll Rand, “where he successfully developed and launched offerings to address the equipment/systems life cycle needs of customers.” Gill also served as President of Ingersoll Rand’s Security Technologies business in the Asia-Pacific region.

Gill also has held executive positions in Asia and North America with Invensys PLC and Johnson Controls Inc. He earned both a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics and Master of Business Administration at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
