Railway Equipment Co. (RECO) has named Russ Gehl as Chief Operating Officer, with leadership responsibility for all operations at the company’s headquarters in Minnesota. He rejoins RECO after serving as Vice President of Maintenance-of-Way Sales at Holland Company, “where he drove consistent growth for Class I and International,” the company said.

Gehl previously held a sales position at RECO, “where he contributed greatly to our relationships with Union Pacific, CN and Canadian Pacific, and we are excited to have him back,” said RECO President Dave Fox. “He is a seasoned and trusted leader who consistently delivers results. Russ’s wealth of experience will be a valuable asset as RECO continues to accelerate growth across our company and bring our industry-leading products and rail solutions to customers on a global scale.”

“I am thrilled to again become part of an organization that offers such innovative solutions,” said Gehl. “Railway Equipment Company is a leader in the industry and is well-respected in the community. I’m looking forward to getting reacquainted with the team and introducing myself to those I have not met. This is an exciting time in the industry for new technologies, and it’s exciting for me to think of where we might go. The family is equally as excited to get back home in Minnesota and cheer for the Vikings!”

Railway Equipment Co. manufactures a complete line of Snow Clearing Devices, Crossing Gate Arms and Lamps, Battery Chargers, and Remote Asset Monitoring & Control Systems. “We are focused solely on the railroad industry and no other,” the company describes itself. “However, we are more than a railroad products supplier. We are remote monitoring specialist. Our solutions offer railroads the ability to remotely monitor and control trackside assets via web-based applications. Our 35-year track record of solving our customers’ toughest [problems] has taught us about the railroad industry and the pressures it faces. That’s why we work tirelessly to employ cutting-edge technology and business practices that help [our customers] succeed.”
