RailSolutions promotes Blankemeyer to president; Husband to serve as consultant

RailSolutions announced that Senior Vice President Rob Blankemeyer has been appointed president by its Board of Directors, effective January 1.

In his new role, Blankemeyer will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities of the company and takes over for founder and president Jim Husband, founder, who will continue to work at RailSolutions on a limited basis as a senior consultant.

“Since joining RailSolutions in September 2017, Rob has brought a tremendous level of experience and industry knowledge to our firm,” said Husband. “With the resources that we now have, I believe that RailSolutions is in a unique position to continue providing quality services to our existing clients, as well as to expand the scope of the services that we offer. I am very much looking forward to being a part of our firm’s growth and development.”

Blankemeyer has been with RailSolutions for 16 months as senior vice president focusing on appraisals, The Investor Guide and special projects. Prior to RailSolutions, Blankemeyer served in various senior management roles with Wells Fargo Rail, First Union Rail, Northbrook Corp., Westinghouse Credit, and others. He has over 40 years of experience in railroad equipment leasing, valuation and financing.

Headquartered in Williamsburg, Va., RailSolutions is a railroad equipment appraisal and valuation services company which also provides railcar and locomotive inspections, equipment portfolio analysis and lease valuation services, technical and information services and performs special projects.
