PowerRail Inks $1.9MM Deal With NJ Transit

Rail-related parts and components supplier PowerRail, Inc. was recently awarded a multi-year, $1.9 million contract with New Jersey Transit to manufacture new Passenger Car Class F Journal Adapter Boxes.

Cooper Bearings, a division of PowerRail, specializes in both new and remanufactured bearings and journal boxes for locomotives, passenger cars and light rail vehicles.

PowerRail, a U.S.-based company, originally formed in 2003 in Wilke-Barre, Pa. The PowerRail corporate offices and main distribution center are now located in Duryea, Pa.

“This is a fabulous opportunity for PowerRail, and our bearings and journal box facility, Cooper Bearings,” said Paul Foster, President and CEO of PowerRail. “New Jersey Transit is a long-time customer of ours and we are proud to have been selected as their supplier of choice for this product.”
