Harris Williams & Co., a preeminent middle market investment bank focused on the advisory needs of clients worldwide, has announced the sale of A. Stucki Company (A. Stucki), a leading manufacturer and supplier of new and reconditioned railcar components, to Stone Canyon Industries (Stone Canyon).

Harris Williams & Co. served as the exclusive advisor to A. Stucki, a portfolio company of Quad-C Management (Quad-C). The transaction was led by Jason Bass, Joe Conner, Jeff Burkett, Jeff Kidd and Jay Beekman of Harris Williams & Co.’s Transportation & Logistics (T&L) Group

“A. Stucki, under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Bill Kiefer and Chief Operating Officer David Lendt, has become the industry leading independent platform in the railcar components marketplace,” said Jason Bass, a managing director in Harris Williams & Co.’s T&L Group. “It has been a pleasure working with Bill, Dave and their team. We expect A. Stucki, with the support of its new partner, will continue its strong track record of growth by successfully executing its strategy of add-on acquisitions, geographic expansion and new product development.”

“The sale of A. Stucki represents another marquee transaction for our practice in the rail sector – one of our core focus areas – and is evidence of continued interest across the rail industry,” added Jeff Burkett, a director at Harris Williams & Co. “Favorable market trends, including the continued, secular rise of rail transportation, solid new car build activity and strong, recurring aftermarket demand make the broader rail sector an attractive industry for investors.”

A. Stucki, headquartered near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a privately held company comprised of 17 global locations that are focused on the engineering, reconditioning, machining and manufacturing of railcar and industrial parts. Since its founding, A. Stucki has led the industry in the development and application of railcar dynamic control products. Today, the company has a formidable presence in the U.S. and worldwide.
