BNSF Logistics has introduced a new 20-axle railcar, the TEXX 900, which joins its specialized fleet to handle heavy-haul and over-dimensional loads.

This shiftable, depressed deck flatcar will enable the third-party logistics services provider, based in Flower Mound, Texas, to offer customers a new option for oversized shipments.

The TEXX 900 has a load capacity of more than 900,000 pounds and can shift up 13 inches, down 11 inches, and 14 inches left to right. The deck space for cargo is 40 feet long, four feet high and nine feet-six inches wide, making it well-suited for complex project moves.

“We are excited for this new addition to the BNSF Logistics rail fleet,” said Dan Curtis, BNSF Logistics president. “The TEXX 900 is one of three similar cars in North America and the only one of its kind available for booking outside a private fleet. We are so proud of our engineers for their relentless work to restore this car to be a lighter, stronger asset.”
