Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub Launches

The new global export headquarters for A&R Logistics is now fully operational, and OmniTRAX has completed rail infrastructure construction to allow shipments from CSX and Norfolk Southern.
A 2,600-acre master planned multi-modal industrial park has reached dual milestones, reports partners OmniTRAX and the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority in Georgia.
The Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub (SGIH) is the new global export headquarters for A&R Logistics, which signed on as an anchor tenant in October 2019. It is now fully operational. In addition, OmniTRAX has completed rail infrastructure construction to allow shipments from CSX and Norfolk Southern; work began in August.
SGIH is a public-private partnership of Effingham County Industrial Development Authority and Denver, Colo.-based The Broe Group, parent company of OmniTRAX and Broe Real Estate. The planned 20 million square-foot logistics park is within 12 miles of The Port of Savannah, part of the Georgia Ports Authority and the third largest U.S. port.
“The A&R facility, SGIH’s new rail yards and the miles of park rail infrastructure are the latest examples of OmniTRAX’s ability to create and deliver full spectrum rail served real estate solutions designed to solve customer needs,” said Scott Brinner, OmniTRAX Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategic Accounts.
