BNSF reported this week that all international intermodal shipments originating at the Pier T Terminal of the Port of Long Beach, Calif., are now terminating at its reopened Harvard Intermodal Facility in Arkansas.
BNSF has resumed operations at its Harvard Intermodal Facility in Marion, Ark., to unlock capacity and meet growing demand in the greater Memphis, Tenn., region.
This facility is located 27 miles northwest of the Class I railroad’s Memphis Intermodal Hub. BNSF reported this week that all international intermodal shipments originating at the Pier T Terminal of the Port of Long Beach, Calif., are now terminating at the Harvard facility.
Additional origination locations and train starts are being evaluated, according to BNSF.

BNSF President and CEO Katie Farmer was among the seven Class I chief executives who responded recently to the Surface Transportation Board inquiry on intermodal congestion.
