The Railway Supply Institute (RSI) has hired Lee Verhey as its new Director of Regulatory and Industry Affairs.

Verhey will manage RSI’s American Railcar (ARCI), Equipment Leasing, and Quality Assurance committees while overseeing the association’s development and response to technical and regulatory policy issues of interest to the industry. Verhey previously served as the Senior Vice President of Quality at TrinityRail and brings 43 years of experience in railcar operations, manufacturing and maintenance to the role.

“Lee’s technical knowledge of railcar specifications, repair and maintenance will be a tremendous asset to our organization and to our member companies,” said Mike O’Malley, President, RSI. “Having been an active member of RSI’s Quality Assurance Committee for many years, we are excited to bring someone onboard that shares our organization’s commitment to driving continuous improvement in the railway supply industry.”

“After decades working with RSI on quality assurance matters, it’s a pleasure to join the RSI team to help advance industry policies and standards that promote safe and efficient railroad operations,” said Verhey.
