Trainyard Tech, LLC recently placed its CLASSMASTER™ Process Control System for hump yards in service at Norfolk Southern’s Conway Yard in Conway, Pa.

The installment was completed ahead of schedule and is the 24th Trainyard Tech CLASSMASTER™ Process Control System in service.

“Conway will benefit from the CLASSMASTER™ Process Control System’s auto calibration, eBlock™, TyTReporter™ and remote diagnostics and maintenance,” the company said. “TyTReporter™ provides Yard Performance Statistics and metrics as well as detailed car data with a few simple clicks of the mouse.”

Conway Yard is located  22 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, along the Ohio River. It was the largest freight yard in the world from 1956 until 1980, under the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central and Conrail. Initially built by PRR subsidiary Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne & Chicago Railway inn 1884, Conway was expanded in the early 20th century. In 1905, it had a capacity of 8,967 cars and typically processed 2,300 cars per day. The enlarged yard was one of four built in Pennsylvania at that time as part of a major PRR expansion, the others being Altoona Yard, Enola Yard and Harrisburg Yard.

Trainyard Tech is based in Naples, Fla.
