TNW Corporation, a privately held operator of short line railroads and logistics centers, announced May 23 that it has formed a strategic alliance with TrinityRail to expand rail offerings at its Texas North Western Railway (TXNW) line in Sunray, Texas.

According to TNW, TXNW and TrinityRail will “offer combined expertise and services to create a one-stop supercenter for railcar storage, certified maintenance and cleaning.” The Sunray, Texas location will now offer:

  • More than 11,000 railcar storage spaces.
  • Tank car certified repair shop facility.
  • Fast track service for quick turn repair projects.
  • Railcar cleaning and flaring.
  • Daily service with Class I interchange (BNSF Railway).
  • Under 30 hours release to interchange.

According to TNW, this new strategic alliance with TrinityRail, which operates a full-service repair shop for tank car compliance events and 40-car length fast track for quick turn maintenance projects, will “benefit customers by offering enough capacity to take large returns of 300 or more railcars from a terminating lessee and allowing a more expeditious return to service, providing a comprehensive solution for customers to return TrinityRail’s cars for cleaning, end of lease inspection, and repair.”

“TNW and TrinityRail understand our customer’s desire for asset utilization,” said TNW CEO Paul Treangen. “We are very pleased to work with an industry leader like TrinityRail.”

“The opportunity for TrinityRail and TNW to partner at the Sunray, Texas storage complex provides a unique customer experience,” said TrinityRail Senior Vice President of U.S. Operations Aaron Gooding. “The on-site TNW car cleaning operations coupled with TrinityRail’s repair and maintenance capabilities allow customers to have a single location for cleaning, storage, maintenance, and repair of their fleet.”
