Button Oil & Propane opens a 240,000-gallon rail-fed propane terminal in Northumberland, Pa., which is served by North Shore Railroad (NSHR). Also, Fulton County (Ga.) Railway LLC (FCR), a managed affiliate of OmniTRAX, presents a community donation to an Atlanta-area fire department in honor of Owens Corning Trumbull Atlanta Division.

Pennsylvania-based Button Oil & Propane, in partnership with NSHR, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Nov. 22 for a new propane terminal, which is now receiving railcars and offering residential and commercial delivery of propane as well as Butane for manufacturing applications.

“It was mid-2019 when [Button Oil & Propane owner] Ed Button walked into my office to have our first discussion about his concept for a pressurized-gas transload terminal,” NSHR Chief Marketing Officer Todd Hunter said. “After more than 2,000 emails and countless phone calls and meetings since then, we arrive here today [Nov. 22] at this beautiful state-of-the-art facility.”

“In an era of hyperinflation and rising costs everywhere, we look a facility like this will allow both us and our competitors to bring affordable energy into the homes and businesses that need it,” Button Oil CEO Steve Passio said.

Button Oil & Propane, founded in 1933, is currently owned and operated by the fourth generation of the Button family.

The City of South Fulton Fire Station #2 in Georgia recently received a $1,000 donation from Fulton County Railway (FCR) in honor of Owens Corning Trumbull Atlanta Division, the railroad’s 2021 safe shipper award winner.

FCR presented a $1,000 donation to the City of South Fulton Fire Station #2 at a recent ceremony honoring Owens Corning Trumbull Atlanta Division, FCR’s recipient of the 2021 OmniTRAX Safe Shipper Award. The award recognizes “companies that model exemplary shipping safety by shipping or receiving loaded cars with no accidental releases during the previous year,” according to Denver, Colo.-based OmniTRAX, the transportation affiliate of The Broe Group.

“Community safety is a shared value, and we salute OmniTRAX, FCR and Owens Corning for their commitment to safety and this generous donation,” Fire Chief Chad Jones said.

“OmniTRAX celebrates this year’s FCR Safe Shipper Award winner,” OmniTRAX Senior Vice President of Operations John Bradley said. “The Safe Shipper award recognizes consistency and commitment, and this year’s award winner embodies these pillars of safety.”
