OmniTRAX’s Nebraska, Kansas & Colorado Railway (NKCR) has made community donations in honor of three Safe Shipper Award recipients. Also, New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway Corp. (NYSW) has earned an Excellence in Partnership Award from Diversified CPC International.

In honor of NKCR’s 2021 Safe Shipper Award recipients—Mid America Agri Products/Wheatland, Hi-Line Co-op, and Frenchman Valley Coop—the short line presented $1,000 donations respectively to three local Nebraska fire departments: Madrid Volunteer Fire Department, Grant Volunteer Fire Department and Imperial Volunteer Fire Department.

NKCR is a managed affiliate of OmniTRAX, the transportation affiliate of The Broe Group. The annual OmniTRAX Safe Shipper Award recognizes companies that “model exemplary shipping safety by shipping or receiving loaded cars with no accidental releases during the previous year,” according to OmniTRAX.

“Safety is a shared priority in the communities we serve, and this year’s three NKCR Safe Shipper award winners have each demonstrated their tireless commitment to community safety,” OmniTRAX CEO Dean Piacente said. “It is our honor to recognize their accomplishments with donations to the local Nebraska fire departments that serve our communities every day.”

Diversified CPC International (DCPC)—a producer and distributor of propellants, refrigerants and specialty gas products—has recognized NYSW with an Excellence in Partnership award, based on its level of service, advocacy and collaboration. The regional railroad has served DCPC’s Sparta, N.J., plant for more than 30 years.

“Our customers rely on us to deliver products safely and on time, which requires us to engage exceptional providers throughout the supply chain. DCPC Vice President of Operations Bill Frauenheim said. “NYSW has consistently exceeded our expectations.

“In addition to 100% first-mile/last-mile service performance, they leveraged their relationships with connecting railroads to advocate on our behalf, and dedicated resources to help us optimally manage inbound materials. This past year has brought about unique situations for supply chains in nearly every industry. NYSW worked in step with us to navigate logistical challenges with an approach that epitomized collaboration and partnership.”
