Lineage Logistics LLC and customer JBS USA in 2023 will open an automated cold-storage facility at the Great Western Industrial Park (GWIP) in Windsor, Colo., to be served by OmniTRAX, The Broe Group’s transportation affiliate.

The new 200,000-square-foot facility will be owned by and be built on a 14.86-acre parcel purchased by Lineage Logistics, the Novi, Mich.-based temperature-controlled industrial REIT and logistics provider. Located within GWIPThe Broe Group’s 3,000-acre master-planned development—the facility will be served by OmniTRAX-managed Great Western Railway of Colorado, which interchanges with BNSF and Union Pacific (UP).

The facility will be distribution hub for global food company JBS USA to support the shipment of export products to West Coast ports, and offer expanded blast freezing and storage capacity, according to Lineage Logistics. OmniTRAX said it will “design, build and operate a custom intermodal rail solution.”

“OmniTRAX provides customized rail and real estate solutions that meet our customers’ needs,” OmniTRAX CEO Dean Piacente said. “By linking rail and real estate with Lineage Logistics automation, this new project will be a model for optimizing global supply chains.”

“We are excited to see projects like this come to fruition; it is a testament to the collaboration between Windsor, Weld County and the amazing asset this region has in the Great Western Industrial Park,” Weld County Commissioner, Chair Scott James said. “We want to thank Upstate Colorado Economic Development for their work with our public- and private-sector partners to bring this project to northern Colorado.”
