Nominations are open for the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association’s (ASLRRA) Veterans Engagement Award, which honors members who implement programs and practices to hire, recognize, support, and engage veterans in the workplace and community.

The annual award program is open to all ASLRRA railroad and supplier members who submit an online application addressing the following questions:

  • How have you engaged with veterans over the past year? Examples include hiring, promotions, company donations, etc.
  • How have you supported or recognized veterans in the workplace or in the community?
  • How have you targeted veterans in your hiring practices?

The 2023 Veterans Engagement Award winner will be recognized at ASLRRA’s 2023 Annual Conference & Exhibition, to be held April 2-4 in New Orleans, La.

Among the previous-year winners are Vancer, a maintenance-of-way equipment manufacturer, and Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis, Railway Age’s 2020 Short Line Railroad of the Year.
