RSI opens nominations for board members

The Railway Supply Institute (RSI) announced April 23 that it is soliciting nominations for executives from member companies to fill three spots on its board of directors for a term beginning in January 2020.

Board members “are expected to serve a three-year term and attend three annual in-person meetings, participate on committees and be available to staff and members,” according to RSI, and nominees must hail from a member company in good standing, while self-nominations are encouraged.

RSI President Mike O’Malley said that the nominating committee would vet the nominees, who will be presented to the board for consideration. The board will then present a slate of candidates to the RSI members for ratification at the Annual Membership Meeting, which will be held at Railway Interchange on Sept. 24 in Minneapolis, Minn.

The deadline for nominations is June 3.

“Serving on the RSI board of directors is a great opportunity for an executive from a member company to take a leadership position and advance the goals of our association and our industry,” said O’Malley. “We are seeking candidates who have the commitment and vision to champion innovation and change for our organization, member companies and the rail supply industry.”
