Ponthier to Union Pacific SVP-Supply Chain

Union Pacific announced that Clark Ponthier has been appointed senior vice president-Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement, effective May 29.

Ponthier will be responsible for purchasing, strategic sourcing, industrial engineering activities and continuous improvement. He brings 30 years of experience in broad supply chain, manufacturing and engineering at Fortune 500 companies.

“Clark brings exceptional supply chain and process improvement leadership experience to this important role at Union Pacific,” said Lance Fritz, Union Pacific chairman, president and chief executive. “We believe his work will strengthen our ability to create value for employees, customers, communities and shareholders.”

Ponthier most recently served as Ingersoll Rand’s vice president, Operations and Integrated Supply Chain–Residential HVAC and Supply. He oversaw supply chain operations in more than 100 manufacturing sites, distribution centers and finished goods warehouses.

Ponthier also held positions at Dell, General Electric and Dow Chemical, and earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
