Tapped to lead TxDOT by the Texas Transportation Commission in June 2021, Williams joined the department in 2012 as Director of Planning and also served five years as Deputy Director. In related developments, last fall Washington State Department of Transportation Secretary Roger Millar and Michigan Department of Transportation Director Paul Ajegba were elected AASHTO President and Vice President, respectively, for 2022-23.
