Spring, Tex.-based Industrial Networks (INet) has added an operations management platform to its suite of rail yard management tools for railroads and railcar repair shops.

Along with inventory management and tools to help operators create switch lists, INet Gateway now allows users to store inspection information and photos, track security seals placed on railcars, and program (or reprogram) AEI tags from the field, among other functions. The INet Gateway platform also provides users with a mapping screen that shows a real-time, “Google Maps-style view” of their rail yard.

“We’re very excited about taking the next step in helping rail operations automate and better manage their facilities,”  said Jimmy Finster, President of INet, a rail yard automation, AEI reader and data acquisition systems provider. “Our solutions have collected pertinent railcar data for years—now it’s time to consider how we manage that data effectively, so that railroads and repair shops alike, can maximize their efficiency and cost-savings.”
