Walker to serve as SYSTRA VP

Rail and transit consulting firm SYSTRA recently announced that Norine M. Walker, P.E., has joined the team as Vice President.

A “veteran transportation professional who has led the design and construction of significant transportation projects throughout her career,” Walker will be based in the company’s Washington, D.C., office. She aims to lead and expand SYSTRA’s presence in the Washington Metropolitan Area and be responsible for bringing in new business and expanding the capabilities of the firm.

Prior to joining SYSTRA, Walker was project manager for design and construction projects at Virginia Railway Express, “overseeing projects with construction values over $50 million.” This includes projects such as the Alexandria Pedestrian Tunnel Project, Lifecycle Overhaul and Upgrade Facility and L’Enfant Storage Track Wayside Power Construction.

Walker “began her career as a transportation engineer before joining URS Corporation, where she progressed to from group manager for the environmental and transportation planning group to vice president. Her notable work included serving as project manager for the planning and design, as well as on-site senior representative, for the $2 billion Woodrow Wilson Bridge Improvement Project in the Washington, DC, metro area.”
