Rafael Santana has officially become President and CEO of Wabtec Corp.

In a move that was announced in April, Santana has succeeded Ray Betler, who retired. Santana, who will also become a Wabtec board member, joined the company earlier this year as President and CEO of its freight division following the merger of Wabtec and GE Transportation, where he served as President and CEO of the former General Electric business unit.

Santana has a degree in engineering from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Brazil and will be based at Wabtec’s new headquarters in Pittsburgh.

The Brazil native brings about 25 years of commercial, product management and executive leadership experience, including more than 10 years in the transportation industry, to his new position.
