The Midwest Association of Rail Shippers (MARS) has postponed its 2020 Summer Meeting to 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

“Focusing on the future,” MARS’s next meeting will be its Winter Meeting, scheduled for Jan. 19-21, 2021 at the Lombard Westin. MARS said it aims “to create the best Winter Meeting ever in January 2021.”

“As promised, we’ve been closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic as it relates to our Summer Meeting,” MARS noted. “Since the safety of our membership, speakers and all those associated with MARS continues to be our priority, our leadership has decided to cancel the MARS 2020 Summer Meeting at the Grand Geneva Resort.

“This was not an easy decision. We understand our members enjoy and appreciate the education and networking opportunities the meeting offers as much as we enjoy hosting the event. But again, MARS’s first priority is protecting the health and safety of our partners.

“We thank everyone who already registered for the conference, and we’ll be contacting you shortly for guidance on registration.

“For those who have made reservations at the Grand Geneva, they will be contacting you directly. There is no cost for canceling. “Thanks for your understanding and support, and we wish you good health and prosperity.”
