CSX Executive Vice President of Operations Jamie Boychuk has announced leadership changes at the Class I railroad, which is combining its Network Operations and Service Design groups.

Casey Albright has been promoted from Vice President of Service Design to Senior Vice President of CSX’s new Network Operations and Service Design group. He will continue to oversee most of his current teams, according to Boychuk, while adding responsibility for the majority of the Network Operations and Services organization previously led by Brian Barr, who will join Union Pacific as Senior Vice President of Transportation on April 15. Albright signed on with CSX in 1998, and has held roles of increasing responsibility in Service Planning, Locomotive Management and Network Operations. He has also served as the Terminal Superintendent and Superintendent of Train Operations on CSX’s Jacksonville and Nashville divisions.

Reporting to Albright in new roles will be:

  • Guy Seguin: Elevated to Vice President of Network Operations from General Manager of Dispatch, Seguin will continue to lead his existing team, while adding responsibility for Crew Management. CSX’s general managers of Network Operations will also be his direct reports. With more than 20 years of railroad and logistics experience, Sequin came to CSX in July 2021 from Canadian Pacific, where he served as General  Manager of Operations. He has also worked for CN, JD Irving Limited, and ArcelorMittal Mines Canada.
  • Chantel Goutcher: Elevated from Senior Director of Operations Integration to Head of Service Design, Goutcher’s group will include fuel strategy and utilization; service design; locomotive productivity; and scheduling and interline. A 28-year CSX veteran, she previously led strategy enablement and technology projects across all three Operating groups to help drive many of CSX’s critical service measures and operating initiatives, Boychuk reported.
  • Wally Sieruga: As General Manager of the Operations Service Group, Sieruga’s responsibilities are expanding to include TRANSFLO operations, a role in which he will continue to meet with customers and deliver service design solutions, according to Boychuk. Since joining CSX in 2018, Sieruga has also served as Head of Network Operations and General Manager of the Southeast Region. Previously, he spent more than 40 years at CN in positions of increasing responsibility, including Transportation Superintendent and General Supervisor of Transportation.

Also reporting to Albright in their current roles will be Lauren DeAlexandris, Head of Car Management; Daniel Deboer, Senior Director of Coal and Bulk Operations; and Wendy Schroeder, Senior Director of Business Systems.

Additionally, CSX’s Intermodal Operations, led by General Manager Marcelo Estrada, will report to Senior Vice President of Operations Ricky Johnson.
