CP Earns Spot on Sustainable Corporation Index

Canadian Pacific (CP) ranks 34th on the Corporate Knights 2022 Global 100 Index of the most sustainable corporations; it is the first time the Class I railroad has earned on a spot on the annual list.
Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S of Denmark tops the 2022 list, which was released on Jan. 19; also ranked are Stantec Inc. of Canada and Alstom SA of France.
The research division of Corporate Knights Inc., which publishes a magazine with the same name, produces rankings and financial product ratings based on corporate sustainability performance. For the annual Global 100 Index, it analyzes companies against their global industry peers on up to 23 key performance indicators covering resource, employee and financial management, as well as “clean” revenue and investments and supplier performance. In 2022, 6,914 public companies with revenue of more than US$1 billion were assessed.

In related developments, CP in November was added to the 2021 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) North America. In October, the Class I railroad issued its 2020 corporate sustainability report.
