Clark, Nair Elevated to CN VP Roles

CN has promoted Nicholas Clark and Girish Nair to Vice President, Transportation Southern Region and Vice President, Multimodal, respectively.

Nicholas Clark is responsible for providing consistent and reliable service to CN’s network spanning U.S. operations from Mobile, Ala., and New Orleans, La., to Ranier, Minn., and Port Huron, Mich., according to the Canadian Class I railroad. He joined CN in 2012 as a Management Trainee in Homewood, Ill., and has since risen through the ranks, holding management roles in Transportation and in Strategy. Clark has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Adrian College in Michigan and a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan.

“A highly regarded operations leader, Nick’s strategic insights and effective management style have enabled him to play a pivotal role in steering our teams toward running an efficient, reliable, and scheduled service,” CN said in a Dec. 6 LinkedIn post reporting the promotion.

Girish Nair is responsible for sustaining and building “excellent” service to customers through CN’s multimodal operations, according to the railroad. He served most recently as Assistant Vice President of International Intermodal, Sales and Marketing. Nair began work at CN in 2010 as Market Manager and advanced to more senior Sales and Marketing roles before becoming AVP in 2021. Girish has also held senior sales and marketing positions at COSCO in Dubai, UAE, as well as with GE and Tata Donnelley Ltd. in Mumbai, India. He holds an MBA from the University of Leicester in England and a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai.

In other CN news, the Class I railroad on Dec. 6 reported signing and closing an agreement to acquire U.S. regional railroad Iowa Northern.
