Canadian Pacific (CP) has received a leadership level score of A- for its 2021 climate change disclosure from global environmental non-profit CDP.

The Class I railroad earned the same ranking in 2020.

CDP is an internationally recognized non-profit that runs a global environmental disclosure platform assessing companies on their climate-related performance and transparency. It scored 11,759 worldwide companies this year on their climate change efforts and disclosures. Scores are based on data reported through CDP’s questionnaire (download CP’s below.)

CP has been a contributing participant to CDP for more than a decade, “consistently disclosing annual emissions progress made on practices to improve the management of greenhouse gas emissions and ongoing energy efficiency initiatives,” according to the Class I railroad, which recently published its corporate sustainability report.

“CP is proud to once again be recognized by the @CDP for leadership on climate action and transparent reporting with an A- rating on its 2021 climate change disclosure,” CP wrote in a Dec. 7 Twitter post.

In related news, CN and CSX each earned an A rating from CDP. Additionally, CP, CSX and CN have been added to the 2021 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) North America.
