Vancouver, British Columbia-based Kelso Technologies Inc. announced Wednesday that it has received certification from the Association of American Railroads for its new heavy-duty external pressure relief valve (EPRV) following successful tests in August.

This means that the valve, designated JS75XH/27, may be utilized in heavy duty hazmat applications that include the transport of crude oil and ethanol.

“AAR certification of our JS75XH/27 EPRV and our Bonham, Tex., production facilities is another of the continuing stream of key milestones in the business development of Kelso,” said Kelso CEO and President Neil Gambow. “This approval and registration acknowledges that Kelso has a new qualified EPRV product and the reliable quality assurance production systems that meets stringent AAR requirements. This is a major step forward in our industry qualifications and credibility. It allows us to pursue both small and large product sales opportunities from the OEM and retrofit/repair segments of the railroad industry with the full approval of the AAR.”

He said the Bonham facility is within a 150-mile radius of key customers. First shipments of the JS75XH/27 will begin next week.
