SMBC completes ARL acquisition; ARI adds fleet management

SMBC Rail Services, LLC on June 1 acquired American Railcar Leasing (ARL); all railcars previously leased from ARL (SHPX and ACFX reporting marks) are now owned or managed by SMBC Rail. In addition, American Railcar Industries (ARI) began to directly manage the ARI fleet (AMFX, SHQX reporting marks).
ARI has now added in-house lease fleet management to its suite of products and services. “We want you to know, it’s all here: leasing, manufacturing, sales of railcars, engineering services, repair services, and high-quality railcar parts,” says ARI Chief Commercial Officer John O’Bryan. “ARI has established a Customer Care Hotline, 800-489-9890. Our Customer Care Manager is Cindy Andrews.”
