Chicago Freight Car Leasing Earns Tech Excellence Award
Written by Marybeth Luczak, Executive EditorThe Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) is honoring Chicago Freight Car Leasing (CFCL), a Sasser subsidiary, with its 2021 Operations & Technology Excellence Award.
CFCL will be recognized at ELFA’s virtual conference on Sept. 14 and in-person annual convention on Oct. 24-26.
The award is presented annually to an organization “driving increased business value through innovative technology solutions, digital business transformation, and/or a shift to a culture of continuous innovation,” according to ELFA.
The CFCL business and Sasser technology teams were selected to receive the award for creating and developing Rail360, a cloud-based software solution that provides a 360-degree view of CFCL railcar data—from mileage and repairs to leases and real-time tracking—and that integrates business processes.
“With the implementation of Rail360, CFCL is now able to serve our customers in real time by having all of the necessary information easily accessible within one cloud-based system,” said Josh Chesser, CFCL’s interim General Manager. “This single operating system [allows] us to be more efficient in our transactions, reducing our time to respond to our customers’ needs, and providing accurate information on demand.”
