Belke joins Strategic Rail Finance

Strategic Rail Finance (SRF) has named rail industry veteran Carl Belke as Executive Consultant in the firm’s Freight Rail Business Advisory practice. Belke has 45 years of freight rail experience in management, strategy, engineering, operations, government advocacy and public policy.

Belke has held positions as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Engineer at multiple short line and Class I railroads, and served in domestic and international leadership roles for Genesee & Wyoming. Among these are the Delaware & Hudson Railway Co.; Guilford Transportation; Canadian Pacific; Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific; Genesee & Wyoming System, Western New York & Pennsylvania; Livonia, Avon & Lakeville; B&H Corp. Railroad and the Arkansas & Missouri.  In addition he holds several positions in railroad affiliated organizations, currently serving as Executive Board Member and Engineering Committee Chairman of the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association.

Strategic Rail Finance conducts diverse engagements for short lines, suppliers and shippers as part of its Freight Rail Business Advisory practice, from equipment and infrastructure finance to turnaround consulting, site valuations and customer attraction. Strategic Rail Finance also provides ports and government agencies with financial and strategic planning services in its Public-Private Finance practice.
