Wabtec Corp. recently inaugurated its Wabtec India Engineering and Technology Center (WITEC) in Bengaluru, which is aimed at supporting growth and innovation.
WITEC is located on the South Block of ITC Green Campus on Banaswadi Main Road in Bengaluru, and will occupy five floors of the building. It represents a $5 million investment into Wabtec’s capabilities and presence in India.
WITEC will “host engineering teams spanning across the company’s Digital Electronics portfolio and will feature cutting-edge labs. These include validation labs for Distributed Power, Positive Train Control, Trip Optimizer, Electronic Air Brake, Signaling Systems, EdgeLINC and many other products for Wabtec’s Advanced Train Automation solutions.”
The center currently has more than 600 employees, is expected to grow to more than 1,000 by the end of 2020, and will include partner resources.

It also establishes a collaborative environment for the India team to drive innovation along with our development hubs in Europe and the United States.”

We will be hiring 250 engineers to work on our Railway and Digital platforms.”
