United Rail, HaslerRail form partnership

Jacksonville, Fla.-based United Rail, Inc. announced a partnership with Swiss rail supply manufacturer HaslerRail AG on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, designed to allow United Rail "to represent their systems and products to the American freight and passenger rail transportation markets."

United Rail said the agreement, ratified this week, will allow it to immediately begin representing the Swiss manufacturer in both sales and marketing activities, and “will also provide localized customer service for the various systems and products to better support the American rail operators and customers of the European partner,” the company said, adding, “These systems and products are compliant with FRA, CENELEC, AAR, AREMA and IEEE standards.”

“We at United Rail have a strong vision of providing a bridge between the European and American rail transportation markets,” said United Rail Founder and CEO Norwin Voegeli. “There are many companies that have a long history of providing safe and effective products in Europe, like HaslerRail, and we feel very strongly that these products and systems could benefit the U.S. market.

“We believe that by leveraging the portfolio of this established Swiss rail supply company with United Rail’s local support team and strategy, we can provide systems that will resolve specific needs and improve both the efficiency and safety of the US rail operators in freight and transit alike,” Voegeli said.

Through the partnership, United Rail will represent HaslerRail AG’s line of rail products and systems, “including the Teloc® Series Data and Event recorders and CPM – Crash Protected Memory; EVA® Data and Event Recorder data transfer; SABOA Safety Board System; CORRail® speed acquisition devices; wheel slip detection system; as well as a suite of hardware and software testing solutions and other systems and products,” United Rail said.
