Siemens Mobility is introducing new highway/rail grade crossing and communication network technologies at the Railway Systems Suppliers, Inc. 2021 exhibition being held Sept. 21-24 in Indianapolis, Ind.

With a focus on digitalization, Siemens has on display:

• Airlink Radios: This private and wide-area broadband network is being showcased for the first time in the U.S. Siemens describes it as the “next generation of IP-based railway communication for the automated railroad of the future.”

S80 Smart Gate Mechanism: This new offering works wirelessly to communicate messages to both maintenance personnel and the nearby wayside system. Gate-to-gate and gate-to-wayside communication occurs over local Wi-Fi and is achieved with existing crossing cabling.

Next-level digitally connected crossing products: GCP 3000+, GCP 5000, Wayside Inspector, Railfusion and Siemens Track Information Monitor (STIM).

“Digitalization is here to stay—and in order for our industry to take the best advantage of this exciting technology, there needs to be a foundational pathway to digitalization, not just for current technologies, but also to incorporate future technologies too,” Siemens Mobility Head of Rail Infrastructure Tobias Bauer said.
