The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) has added Ayers Electronic Systems LLC (aE) as Member Discount Program Preferred Provider for implementing Positive Train Control (PTC), including services selection, procurement, training, testing and implementation coordination.

aE’s PTC offerings for short lines and regionals start with a business environment analysis. This is followed by an implementation plan including PTC system specification and recommendation; procurement services; testing of command, control, communications and monitoring systems; and a training plan with assistance from aE technical experts. aE can also provide standardization assistance to ensure day-to-day operations are consistently applying the new processes developed.

“Our staff collectively brings more than 90 years of experience in specifying, designing, integrating and testing PTC solutions for railroads,” said aE President Robert G. Ayers. “As we are not affiliated with any specific manufacturer, we can provide an objective approach to each railroad. We are committed to delivering innovative solutions that meet our customers’ needs and look forward to designing and implementing programs specifically for the small business railroad environment.”

“We are pleased to be able to offer a management solution for short lines who must equip with PTC per regulation or as required by their Class I partners,” said ASLRRA President Chuck Baker. “Via our agreement with aE, short lines will be able to analyze their business processes, select products that meet their specific needs and develop an implementation and training plan that will comply with the complex provisions of PTC regulations, all at a price that is reasonable for our small business railroad members.”

The products and services provided by aE “join a select group of ASLRRA-vetted vendors providing specific services for Class II and III railroads to assist them in meeting PTC deadlines,” the association said. More information about short line PTC providers can be found here.

Ayers Electronic Systems LLC, founded in 2008, says it “develops and provides world-class, standards-based products and services primarily in the transportation sector. We provide tools and services to facilitate information exchange and management, systems engineering, testing and training tailored to individual projects. Our engineers design, develop, integrate and test complex, distributed, mission-critical systems. We have the skills and capabilities to specify and verify that your system’s requirements are met in complex integrated systems. As a small business with a reputation for providing valuable and effective service, aE is well-known in the supply and regulatory community with a unique range of services independent from major suppliers.”
