Pete Tomlin Featured at Next-Gen Train Control

Kiewit Rail & Transit Systems Sponsor – Canada Pete Tomlin will be featured at Railway Age’s Next-Gen Train Control 2022 Conference, presented jointly with Parsons, Oct. 20-21, Philadelphia. Tomlin’s presentation, “The Utopia Line, Reverse-Engineering Systems for a Greenfield Project,” will have a special twist of its own. He was one of three experts who initially spearheaded the Toronto Transit Commission’s evolution to ATC was initially spearheaded by three experts who have since left the agency: Tomlin (Project Director-ATC), Andy Byford (CEO), and Mike Palmer (Chief Operating Officer). Byford and Tomlin went to New York City Transit as President and Vice President CBTC, Signals & Train Control Engineering, respectively. Palmer joined Parsons as Director of Rail Operations and CBTC, and is among this conference’s principal organizers. Byford subsequently returned to his native England as Commissioner of Transport for London, and now has left that agency to return to the U.S.
