Hitachi Rail is launching four communications and signaling products and services at this week’s Railway Systems Suppliers, Inc. exhibition in Indianapolis, Ind.

Hitachi Rail’s booth features:

The improved Model 95-E gate crossing mechanism: The Model 95-E offers a new electronics control module as well as “dustless motor technology that eliminates maintenance problems,” according to Hitachi.

New Signal Design and Material Packages: These packages are specifically designed for freight and commuter railroads “to provide engineering services and turnkey wired signal houses for wayside signaling and crossing locations,” Hitachi says. With facilities in Batesburg, S.C., Hitachi can deliver all aspects of a project, including engineering, validation and testing, materials management, warehousing and inventory, factory wiring and testing, and field site delivery.

• Vital Onboard Train Control: This new platform is designed for freight and passenger train control applications.

• ViPro® Vital Processor: This advanced processor is for wayside signaling and PTC applications. It combines “core train control capabilities with next-generation communications, monitoring and analytics,” Hitachi says. ViPro® is compatible with MicroLok® II systems. It offers “a simple upgrade path for existing equipment installations in both freight and mass transit systems,” according to the manufacturer.
