The Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate has awarded Duos Technologies Inc. (Duostech), a supplier of intelligent analytical security technology, a follow-up research grant to complete the next phase of a railcar undercarriage screening system.

“This contract represents the next step of a multi-phased approach to expand the capabilities of our Vehicle Undercarriage Examiner (vue™) technology, currently used for freight railcar undercarriage screening, to mass transit railcars,” said Duostech Executive Vice President and General Manager Felix Krupczynski. “It marks a significant milestone in the development of the vue™ system. With the successful completion of the first phase of the contract, we will now demonstrate the enhanced capabilities targeted for use by transit agencies.”

The vue™ system is part of Duos Technologies’ Rail Inspection Portal technology, “the company’s latest innovation that combines several of its intelligent technologies and subsystems that utilize our proprietary algorithms to process and evaluate a broad range of data from multiple sensor technologies for increased security, inspection and operational effectiveness,” said Krupczynski.

Duos Technologies Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Information Systems Associates Inc. (ISA). Based in Jacksonville, Fla., ISA “provides intelligent security analytical technology solutions with a strong portfolio of intellectual property,” the company notes. “Duostech’s core competencies include advanced intelligent technologies that are delivered through centraco™, our proprietary integrated enterprise command and control platform. We provide a broad range of technology solutions with an emphasis on mission-critical security, inspection and operations within the rail, utilities, petrochemical, healthcare and hospitality sectors.”
