Trainyard Tech to deliver CLASSMASTER™ to Oak Island Yard

Conrail has tabbed Trainyard Tech to install the CLASSMASTER™ hump yard process control system at Oak Island Yard in Newark, N.J.
Oak Island Yard has 30 classifications tracks with three leads that may be routed to feed one master retarder, three intermediate retarders and five group retarders. The Distance-to-Couple (DTC) system will be included in the upgrade.
With its TyTReporter™ tool—a customizable railyard reporting tool—Trainyard Tech “aims to bring Oak Island Yard a full complement of calibration and performance stats and analysis, while Conrail realizes increased throughput, safety and user-friendly control and reporting,” the company said.
CLASSMASTER’s features include auto calibration; graphic playback; DTC; easily readable loggers; real-time hump list display; electronic track blocking; and remote diagnostics.
