Improving rail maintenance strategies

Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-Chief

Since up to 25% of annual railroad budgets are dedicated to maintenance-of-way, rail operators know that “optimal network system performance is dependent upon effective use of accurate, consolidated and up-to-date asset information,” says Bentley Solutions Executive-Rail and Transit Andrew Smith, host of a webinar on “the challenges that exist in managing rail information.”

The half-hour webinar, based on Bentley’s OpenRail for Asset Performance technology, examines how, by harnessing a vast amount of existing rail corridor data in a prioritized plan, assigning the work and monitoring the execution and results with technology applications, railroads “can do more with fewer resources.”

“Learn more about performing analysis and forecasting of data trends that enable better-informed decisions about maintenance and renewals,” Smith adds.

Webinar participants can earn one Professional Development Hour (PDH) from Bentley Institute for attending this one-hour webinar.
