AMTRAK ACELA OVERHAUL and COT&S

Amtrak intends to issue a competitive Request for Proposal #X-061-11152-004 for a vendor to furnish turnkey services, including providing a suitable facility, for Amtrak’s Acela High Speed Trainsets. 

 

Services will consist of performing Amtrak’s upcoming Major Work Program (MWP) Overhaul of the entire Acela fleet of twenty trainsets and COT&S (Clean Oil Test and Stencil) of two Acela trainsets at a location to be determined.   


PROCUREMENT ACTIVITIES and ESTIMATED DATES:


Amtrak issues competitive RFP: Week of May 30th, 2011
Mandatory Pre-Proposal Meeting/Site Tour: June 9, 2011 in Washington, DC area
Due Date for submission of written technical and commercial proposals: July 7, 2011
Oral Presentations from Short-Listed Companies: Week of July 11, 2011
Contract Award: Week of August 1, 2011
Notice to Proceed: Week of August 8, 2011 

COT&S work commences:  On or about September 2011

MWP work commences:  On or about January 2012

Amtrak, at its sole discretion and without discussion, shall determine which Vendors will be added to its list of acceptable vendors. ONLY Vendors that can meet the minimum qualifications listed below should E-MAIL or MAIL a request for the Request for Proposal Package on company letterhead to:

Vendor Minimum Qualifications:

  

        • Successful and proven experience in repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining, Acela and or other intercity NEC transit trains.
        • Successful and proven experience in repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining active and or passive tilting systems.
        • Successful and proven experience in repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining high power semi-conductor propulsion technology and or Acela propulsion package.
