MARTA planning staff will make a presentation of the proposal April 9 at the agency's headquarters. The proposed $700 million project would include 10 LRT stations along 8.8 miles of right-of-way. Transfers to MARTA's Red and Gold lines would be available at Lindbergh Center, while a transfer to MARTA's Blue Line would be available at Avondale Station. Other station stops include DeKalb Medical Center.
The proposal also calls for two maintenance and/or storage facilities.
MARTA has formed a partnership with the Clifton Corridor Transportation Management Association (CCTMA) to study the proposal, dubbed the Clifton Corridor Transit Initiative- Alternatives Analysis.
The MARTA Board of Directors will consider, and possibly adopt, planning staff recommendations, but MARTA stressed that it seeks and expects public input on the plan, both before and after the presentation.
