Led by DART President/Executive Director Gary Thomas, and joined by American Public Transportation Association (APTA) President and CEO Michael Melaniphy, officials singled out Don Johnson, a 10-year user of DART LRT, at Union Station at about 5:49 a.m. (Central Time) Monday morning, awarding him a set of monthly passes, along with tickets to local attractions such as the Dallas Zoo, Children's Aquarium at Fair Park, and the Museum of Nature & Science.
DART's ceremony coincides with this year's APTA Rail Conference, which commenced Sunday at the nearby Hyatt Regency, adjacent to Union Station. DART's Thomas also is the current APTA chair.
