Falls Church, Va.-based ENSCO, Inc. said Wednesday Amtrak has selected for use the company's TrackIT(r) Track Chart Management System. The web-based system hosts Amtrak's official track charts and provides them as high quality PDF digital copies or hard copies.

The system is a module of ENSCO's TrackIT(r) Data Management System, ENSCO said. It allows for easy updates to track chart information by loading Amtrak's in-house asset database data on the application server, which updates the electronic track chart records.

The password protected secure website allows the user to query track charts for a specific location and to quickly export them to a PDF. TrackIT has the added benefit of allowing automated and autonomous inspection data to be shown alongside the track charts.

"On-line access to current infrastructure and inspection records is definitely the direction the industry is going," said ENSCO Vice President, Applied Technology and Engineering Division Boris Nejikovsky. "We are excited to be a leader in it and aid Amtrak in their data management goals."
