Siemens USA, headquartered in Washington, D.C. is the American division of Munich, Germany-based Siemens AG.

LaHood also reiterated the Obama Administration's support for the 700-mile California High Speed Rail project, currently under fire from several quarters. "We're committed, with the leadership of Gov. [Jerry] Brown, to begin the process of high speed rail in the Central Valley, in Fresno," LaHood said.

LaHood also scheduled a tour of the Sacramento Railyards project, which includes Sacramento Station, already served by Amtrak and envisioned as one stop for the state's HSR network.
