The July 26 debut could allowNJT to iron out glitches in the service prior to September, when service willbe provided for home games by boththe NFL’s Giants and Jets.
The new service also is expected to dovetail with plans tooffer connecting rail service to and from a planned tristate rail servicelinking New Haven, Conn., and Secaucus Junction, west of Manhattan, on theNortheast Corridor beginning in the fall of 2010. Metro-North train crews will operate the equipment from New Haven to New York Penn Station, while NJ Transit counterparts will handle the segments between Penn Station and Secaucus.
