At its monthly meeting, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Board of Commissioners authorized an option under the PATH Railcar procurement contract with Kawasaki Rail Car Inc., to purchase 10 additional PA-5 railcars at a total cost of $15 million.


The Board also authorized a construction trade contract for the World Trade Center Transportation Hub project for elevators and escalators for the PATH Hall and Transit Hall and a construction trade contract for the World Trade Center Transportation Hub with R. Baker & Sons All Industrial Services Inc., for East Bathtub wall demolition work to make way for pedestrian corridors that will link the Transit Hall to the MTA's Fulton Street Station.
